Choosing a Core Yarn: An elastic fiber with recovery and stretch capabilities, such as spandex, is typically used for the core yarn.

Choosing the Covering Fiber: The final product’s desired features will determine which type of covering fiber to use, such as polyester, nylon, or another synthetic fiber.

The covering fibers and core are fed into a high-pressure air jet in the air jet process. The covering fibers wrap around the core fiber as a result of the air jet’s turbulence, producing a composite yarn with little to no twist.
